A Poets Life

A poets life Is full of strife He pens his words In perfect rhyme So he can be heard Through endless time Never for self Always for more Enchanting readers A poets core Pictures of love Cries of joy Tantalizing words The poets ploy Down through the ages Far too few Have captured our souls Alas Alas Anew

I don't mind when people post five poems, that is not so bad. But it is very rude and inconsiderate to be making other poets' poetry scroll off the board before others have a chance to know that they wrote something today.. They used to have a list called Poems- new by poet.. I always used to visit that one because it only showed ONE poem per poet each day. But if you go click on it, you will see it's now "under construction" and has been that way for a long time now. DANG.

Richard in answer to your question, I think just looking at all the poetry sites such as Soup answers your question. Even the most personal of poetry is posted here. Obviously most people want to share nearly everything they write! I know Soup says we can write as much as we want, but if you ever follow the blogs, you will find out that most members of soup hate it when people post more than five poems a day .There are some people doing like 20 at one time. those are the ones I am complaining of

richard, I hope you will read my message to you on that last one of mine that you saw. Even here in this poem you have written, I can say that you and I agree. The poet writes, as you so eloquently said "so he can be heard" and if nobody is reading your words, I think it takes something away from the satisfaction you derive from writing in the first place. That's why we are all here, Richard. We want people to read us. otherwise, we would all stay in our rooms and write and never show the world!

Hi Andrea Read your message..You do know , many of our greatest love sonnets were written for love ones, not public view. Also . Diaries that have survived were written for personnel reasons .Not public consumption...My point is ....Does one write for personnel satisfaction and a release or just to entertain others?
