A Poet's Intention

To have my name in a literature book Or read aloud at a poetry convention, Is not why I write these little verses Has never been my desired intention. To leave a legacy of written works Hopefully, for my posterity to read, So they know what Grandpa thought Made him laugh, or, made him bleed. Written July 5, 2021

Thanks, Andrea. I have no illusions about what I write, but I write with a good motive. I think most of us do. We write some goodies. We write some flops, but they all express something inside of us worth expressing.

Well, Jan, your posterity will always know that you "made them laugh," and that is one of the greatest gifts a person can give. I salute you!
