A Poets Dimples

Poet Dimples

How can I please?
I am lost at sea!
I don't want to write poems,
that simply, are not me.
That's pure duplicity.

I won't sell out on me!
And, I am human, after all.
I do hear that non-stop siren call,
"Be popular", that's all!

That's the dichotomy,
I find myself in.
Like being in a circus,
Trying to make the crowd grin.

This poem so wonderfully
direct and simple,
It creates creases in my
attractive, poet dimples.

So, I find iif I, only accept myself
as is.
And if others just cannot?
Well then…..it is, what it is!

A wonderful/creative write. We are all  unique writers with very busy lifestyles. Sometimes it is hard to find the time to write or to comment. I enjoyed reading this one. Keep up writing your wonderful writes. Have a great/blessed day writing away.............

Thanks, Paula, two comments. Wow, that’s really great. You’re right it’s very hard to find time and we do have other things to do.. the mind has to have a rest sometimes. Writing all day is not for me. .. I do what I can when I am inspired. Otherwise it’s a useful case.., I think anyone of us could throw words out of paper, and slide them down. But it’s hardly satisfying and it does nothing for anyone else.. and commenting. Also I can only come in so much and that’s all otherwise I’m writing meaningless words to impress people and I will not do that. I write from my soul.. I don’t write from my mind. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it does for me.. come on integrity or won’t be there. Throwing words at people I think some insult.. but that’s all I feel. Pangie

Nice insight on your motivation, Pangie. It seems like you're getting closer to your poetic source, perhaps? Or are already there. Some great lines in this story, too!

I have been at the source since the beginning and I never knew it,))) i think, rather than get better, i stay the same. Which is quite a ZEN concept. Definitely, not Western. This was how I wrote in the beginning. It was longer and more verbose. I write shotrer poems these days. I am sure I am over impressing poets a few years ago.)) thats for other poets. Your writings always impress me. I think I know you from a previous lifetime….a positive one. It only happened to me one before. Now theres an idea for a poem.))) HNY Pangie early Rome? Greece? Fascinating ideas.)))

Love this muse on what is, i.e., I mean what it is is what it is...

Ps. Forgot to add, no I am museless. I hhave no such beings in my head, heart, nor living space. Many piets do, fine with me. I like living alone …no space for a muse)))

Yeah, Pangie. I get it. Some poets get a lot of attention and some just don't. It's a popularity thing, methinks. We would all like to get recognition on all our poetry. As a working man and a sports fan I try my best to spend some time either writing or commenting. After the Superbowl I should have more time (lol) It is what it is...and that's just the way it is. Hugs Charlie

We have to read others in order to be read, but… . we each are unique. And we have varied lifestyles.. I would know no more want to hang around here four years every day, hitting my head with a hammer. I just do what I can.. but I don’t look at this as a in school to learn poetry. In. It’s a place to write poetry.. it is not a place to feel guilty or put our lives on hold! Maybe I have a pointed head I don’t know. Could be.))). I write when I feel like it and comment when I feel like it. ., I know it is other people like the school where you must show up or else. That’s silly.. Just be yourself whether here or not ..we love you.. I appreciate any comment I get. Hugs, Pangie,

Any poem that comes out of the heart of a writer is worth it.

Hi Pangie, you've described your individuality as a person, as a poet, so succinctly. We should always write what we feel. Part of that is our own self-satisfaction, and not to worry about contests. I could make a necklace out of all the N/A's I've gotten, but, in my heart and soul, I still am proud of my poems. Will be emailing again by tomorrow. Have a splendid evening. ~

Hi Regina, I guess that does well summarize who I am. But not all of me.. Even though you got all of NA approved that you did try. You know, I’m not in contests for my own reasons. There’s hundreds of people here who ln. be contest. Great! Mazel tov ! I’ll just keep my dimple and stand but the side of the road and get out of the way. That’s the best I can do.. I know I’ll hear from Regina when you have time. Gracias, Pangie.
