A Poem's Witty Verses
A witty verse can stir the brain
To write as Shakespeare or to feign
And every little rhyme that’s writ
Is worthy of the praise it gets.
A witty verse can change the course
Of history unless that source
Be drowned out midst news hour casts
In ears from which they fail to last.
A witty verse a love can make
Or of a love a heart can break.
It also can this whole world stop
Or drain an ocean, drop by drop.
It, too, can take you by your hand
And have you read, not understand
That, yes, this little poem was writ
Without too much poetic wit.
