A Pocket Full of Comment Change

I would rather spend a dollar commenting
than waste a half-dime on replies (SORRY!!);
I would rather say how good yours is
than thank you for applauding mine.
I do like remarks, genuine;
obligations, please do not maintain--
feel free, not painfully constrained.
Sharing thoughts that stimulate
massages both our brains.

Very well said, Faye. Sometimes "comments" say more about the commenter's work than the poem on which they are commenting on. It's fine to say thanks, but beyond that it's self-aggrandizing. Excellent! Congrats. Love, Carolyn

Congratulations Faye. Quote I'd rather say how good yours is. I like both. Hearing and gladly giving. :-).

that reply button was the worst thing they ever brought to soup. It was not here three or four years ago.

i like this very much, faye! i agree with you about replies - i rarely get to respond to comments, simply because i don't have the time to do so. i hope people understand that. you've said it very well here...

Beautifully penned Faye. I only comment on the poems I enjoyed reading - it is also a great way for a new poet like myself to learn from others. We all share the podium in this contest so congrats:-) hugs jan xx

I love this. it's exactly how I feel about those damned replies that hardly anybody is seeing anyway. I mean, once in a while they are ok, but to just thank and thank and thank and not do anything else? And congrats congrats congrats, copy paste copy paste copy paste and not say anything else? Give me a break. what is in it for them?? I don't get it.

Speak no evil but take every good opening to praise talent be it weak or great. Which world famous poet started out a legend? Great write my friend, the message inspires many methinks.

It is not the replies that are that important but massaging the egos of the emotional poet that is much appreciated...well versed Faye...hugs Tim
