It is morn in the countryside late in the spring, and the lake is so placid and birds they all sing. All the flowers in bloom and the air is so clean; not a day that’s so lovely has ever been seen. As I walk to the lake I can see little swirls where the fish break the surface as morning unfurls. It is late in the spring when the fish end their spawn that the fishing is best; to this place I am drawn. For the crappie are biting or so I am told, and a stringer of fish is a sight to behold. There’s a fish fry tonight; I can taste it right now; to my house you can come and your friends I’ll allow. But my telephone rings and it brings me to life brings me back to my world which is filled with much strife; many deadlines to meet and my day is extreme, and my walk through the country was merely a dream.

Tim, my best half, is sitting here so I began reading your poem aloud. Upon completion, we both emitted emphatic "WOWS". I told him you were GOOD and then you showed him you were GOOD. Awesome write. That isn't Lewisville or Lake Joe Pool by chance? A poem that gives me chills is thus identified as a poem, I still have chills. CayCay (gotta fav this)

CayCay, I am in awe that you read this aloud to your hubby, I am so glad you both enjoyed it. The picture came off the internet; I just wanted something very serene looking. Lake Lewisville is my go to lake though, since I live in Carrollton. CayCay, I so much appreciate your support and encouragement my dear poetic friend. John

- You have created a so pretty picture, John - Today's technology is disturbing and breaking our attention in nature's beauty - I always put the phone on "silent" when I'm in nature - Good luck in the contest - Have a nice day :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

A great poem John, Such a lovely vision - I have seen it many a time in Australia. I could smell the aroma of the frying fish - as with the fragrance of the setting - Alas it was only a day dream - but the sensations stayed. All the best for the Contest - the meter is excellent - I must FAVE this...Maria
