A Place To Trust

Give me a place to hideaway
A place up high where I can see
Everything that’s haunting me
A place that’s safe where thoughts make way

Give me a place to hideaway
               A deliverance from constant thrust
From life’s intrusion
                   A place to trust

Like P.S. Awtrey below, I decided to view your very first poem on the Soup. It's you, alright, although a little more condensed than your later masterpieces. ~ Anne Ad Mirer

I decided to go all the way back to your first poem on here Mike, and I love it. I am sure you found that special place among such beautiful poets. You've been here a long time! I found this site in September or October of 2020. I love your poems, and wanted to see the first seedling you planted here, it is a beauty :)

Mike, I went back to read your first poem on Poetry Soup, and I was really touched. I hope you have found your place here. You have given all of us beauty in your writing. I certainly appreciate your presence among us, and I hope you have joy and peace in this place. --your Kentucky friend, Milt

Milt, that is so very kind of you to do and say, I am indeed touched by your thoughtfulness! When I wrote that, I was thinking of my younger days when I would seek towers with windows from which I could be alone to think. Now, I see that indeed PS has become the place that I can trust and share my thoughts and I am grateful for it and folks like you, thank you!!!

Did you find the place? I'm a searcher, too! Good and gracious golly do you have a lot of poems for just starting this year! I'm almost 2 years old (I think) and have the same number of pages. Me thinks you wrote many years, therapy style, before finding Soup (me, too). Glad to have found you. I sure relate to this poem. All the best ... CayCay

This reminds me of my hangout spot I had with my sister and friends from the neighborhood. We were in our own little world. Then we grew up... Great poem and welcome to poetrysoup!
