A Place to Hear The Silence

Who thought it would come to this?
I can’t live in the computer space but I know within it there’s quiet.
I almost think here.
I kind of like that it can’t really be pulled apart and seep noise if I can just keep my volume down
That is becoming more simpler as I age.
Just a place to keep my ears from being visible to my foe,
That makes them crazy
They still work as hard to be better at it
Well that thing
I don’t study computers much
They just took up space in the dark for so many years.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

This is a compelling, contemporary take on blank verse, using its looseness to mirror thought moving through anxiety rather than resolving neatly. The computer-space imagery feels both strange and recognisable: a private, dim refuge where silence becomes protection, while the hesitant phrasing gives the poem an authentic, vulnerable pulse.
