A Place To Crash

She came to me from a fettered past
Emma seeking a place to crash
Her words, trembling, revealed her pain
From someone’s cold and bitter reign
She needed refuge a place to stay
I opened my door without delay
We sipped wine and shared our dreams
We reminisced about the bend in the stream
The night grew deep, the hours flew
My humble home, not much, will do
Restless turning, sighs in the dark
She couldn’t sleep, missing a spark
I said, “scootch closer, let me be
Your comfort, wrapped in warmth with me.”
In gentle arms, the world fell away
Embraces where passion found its way
To make a story turn to gold
We found comfort in our lover’s fold

Epilogue:
In shadows cast by midnight’s gentle hand
We whispered dreams only hearts could ‘stand
Wine's sweet laughter lingered on our lips
Desires awakening in subtle trembling wisps
On tangled shrouds, the awaiting dawn drew us near
Saying to two hearts things they could only hear
In an early morning hush, confessions softly fell
Two hearts entwined when secret passions swell
Wine-kissed lips and whispers do ignite
Desire awakened, surrendering alike
In tangled arms, longing softly grew
A warm and loving comfort shared by only two

...and I say "Good morning" to you
