A Picture of You

I paint a picture of my life
I draw you in pencil
as I've only just met you
yet I feel I should use paint

I start to paint your face
but I can't find the colour
for your eyes
or for the light you give out

I'll paint the background sepia
as everything else fades when I think of you
or I could sketch myself standing alone
alone in a corner painted blue
