A Picture of a Flower

A picture of a flower Is not, in fact, a true flower, No matter how colorful, But it is, in effect, an attempt to portray Some aspect of that flower’s truth. A memory of happiness Is not, in fact, true happiness, No matter how wonderful, But it is, in effect, an attempt to recall Some evidence of happiness once true. A poem about love Is not, in fact, true love, No matter how beautiful, But it is, in effect, an attempt to reveal Some perspective on love’s truth.

Very true. A poet should always try to display truth in his/her work. You always do it so well, Michael. That's why I am one of your followers!

Thank you, sir. I appreciate your support. We're all artists who can't help but do what we do. It's the music and magic of language that makes life relatable in general, and tolerable in particular.
