A Phoenix
A black mythological bird
That lived for many years
Died on a pyre of slavery and impoverish
1960 a new phoenix was born
To move away from destitute
But still inherit the same load of poverty-stricken
Beautiful black and famished as ever
The same batches of infamy
Myopia leader that got paid for their blunders
Ethnic bickering, nation suffocates
War, hunger, job-devoid
Politician connive in the dark
No future with kleptocracy
More ranks to their siblings adorn
Nation sough siphoning off to aloof
The phoenix should die
And rebirth but lousy wings should decays
