A Penny For Your Thoughts

I did ask myself why it did happen
Why did my life suddenly become hell
It used to be all so blissful as would a stay in heaven
When, in my lover's gaze, I did consider myself to be his only belle

But I did come to know about it, by means so clear
My lover was to me, a cheat
He did cheat on my trust, he did make out with my peer
Why, now, with truth imbibed, I do feel like I roam life's lonely street

Shall I even gather myself back up
Life is made of struggles, of pains, of aches
What matters is how we do cope with it all, how we do gather ourselves back up
I shall fly again, I am sure of it, even if now I do feel stuck

Why, Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore love is what I shall now leave behind!
