A Patch of Moonlight

A Patch of Moonlight

A patch of moonlight glimmers in pale shades of ivory
Then drips from feathery pine boughs in soft revery;
Nightingales fill solitude with pure symphonies
Still serenity of blissful stars in nocturnal brillancy.

When you see it over a lake it looks like a melting path. When I lived in Vermont, there was a song you would hear every now and then called Moonlight In Vermont. Such a relaxing poem. I loved it. When moonlight creates ivory patches on our lawn and the nightingale starts to call I am always carried away into a serene place! Somehow the moon and bird go together for me on a summer night.
