A Passion For the Lost
A Passion For the Lost [Prayer]
God please give this soul
A passion for the lost;
A heart that is broken
For souls by sin embossed.
Bring me to my knees, dear Lord
To pray for each and every one.
May I not sit in some church pew,
Glued to a seat without action.
God give me a yearning
For your Spirit to be used,
Through the gifts that he’s given
Draw souls that are confused.
Confused by the world’s temptations
That leaves them so empty;
Hearts so sad and heavy;
So unaware of their folly.
God give me a passion
To give my personal testimony
Of how I came to know you
And daily keep so cheery.
Regardless of my past
That was filled with sin and woe,
You loved me and drew me,
When I had nowhere else to go.
Give me a passion for those
Who are resistant to your grace;
In ignorance are self-sufficient;
Feel they have no sin to erase.
Use me to show them
That this is not a perfect place,
And dependence upon self
Is completely headspace.
Please give me a passion
To work in your harvest field.
All my energies and commitment,
To you and you alone yield.
Open up the doors
That you want me to walk through.
I need that Passion for the Lost
To show them their heavenly value.
A-men.
