A passing life

Reflections in the glass
Your face
Appears behind my shoulder
So beautiful
So pure
I gaze upon your every line
Expressions change
With the background
Of a passing life
Your eyes close
As if you are as tired
As I
A slight smile
You know I can't
Avert my eye
A coy look
I didn't know
I could l Iove you more
Leaning forward
To be closer
To smell my aftershave
Closing my eyes
I feel your hands
Gentleness
As you place it
On the back of my head
I wish
I could drift away
Let it all go
Expressions change
With the.background
Of a passing life
You look sad now
The rain
Makes it looks like
No
You are
Crying
As your hand
Slides
Down the back of my neck
And away
Don't go
Please
I am tired
Stay close to me
Or again
I will stumble
In the dark
My plea
It goes unheard
And the bus
Jerks to a stop
I exit
Into a dark
Drizzling night
My expression changes
With the background
Of a passing life

Ignore the lack of comments - happened to me so very many times. Still does. People only comment if you comment and so on. I know it is discouraging. The poem above is a very effective, emotive write that brought an emotional rush from my heart straight to my eyes. I felt your poem and hope to read you again soon. CayCay
