A PARENT'S LOVE
Mummy, which one do you love more,
Who’s your favourite one?
I think you’re fishing for compliments,
You know I love you all.
Yes, but who’s the best?
Well now, let me think …
Jemima’s best on the violin
And George excels on the piano.
Harry is good at poetry
But Fiona is better at prose.
Nobody catches Edward
When he runs the hundred metres
But when it comes to long jump,
Marys far ahead.
Petra got top marks for maths
And John is good at science.
Barbara’s great at cooking.
Theresa’s needlework’s fine.
There, I think I’ve covered everyone,
They’re all good in their way.
So I don’t have a favourite.
Er… Mummy, you’ve forgotten one,
You haven’t mentioned me.
Ah well, that’s an easy one.
