A Paper Stage of Shadows

I sit in front of my small blank screen..
I'm chasing words that shadow letters
that still can't lean..
My paper is like an empty stage, where
scripts and sets disappear like a turning page...
The sun cascades a shadow that follows each
completed line..
While the meaning is set,the poems like dancing
puppets start to rhyme..
My fingers caress the keyboard to make music that
can echo in the halls..
All the while this tattered poet can move a shadow
from his wall...

Words like shadows - shadows like words. Maybe ideas come like the sun making shadows? Am I close, MIke? LOve, daver

Really like the comparison of the writer's empty page to an empty stage, waiting for characters and their lines to emerge from the shadows. Very cool entry for the contest, Michael. Melodious quality as well. Love, Carolyn

Great one..Very impressed with the creativity..Reads like a winner to me..I could not decide if he wanted something about the picture or just about shadows and lines..You did good..Thanks for the kind review of my work..Sara
