A once bright elcon

At Elizabeth Conradie, I used to feel so bright,
My mom was there, her heart full of light.
She was a Tswana teacher, loud and kind,
With a peaceful spirit that filled my mind.
She taught from Grade R to Seven,
Her voice was strong, like a gift from heaven.
She’d make us laugh, she’d make us smile,
Her happy soul stayed with us a while.
When she walked through the halls, you could feel her near,
Her energy filled the air, so clear.
Her presence was something you couldn’t miss,
A loving mom, full of pure bliss.
But now she’s gone, and things have changed,
The school feels empty, nothing feels the same.
I even changed schools, left the past behind,
But her spirit’s still with me, always on my mind.
I miss her voice, her laugh, her care,
The way she was always there.
Now every hall is quiet and still,
Without her joy, without her will.
But even though she’s gone away,
Her love and warmth still make me say,
In my heart, she’ll always be,
A part of me, forever free.
