A Note To Mum

A lot of pain inside is now awake
You for a long time no longer in the world of mine that’s my fate
Mute sobs and moaning tears choked into my heart
Your day has come and far, far away you are
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
For my tremendous loss I myself mourn
You have done a lot I cannot ask for more
Your care, love and devotion
From heart and soul like an ocean
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
I now gratefully appreciate
What once for granted I used to take
Sorrow is burning in me for having you gone
And there is a lot for me to have done
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
What you mum gave was unconditional and a perfection
To love you back that was my sole consolation
Myself I now do pity for once being so mean
My love for you I could not show or reveal
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
Your day has come
This is my note to you mum
Greatest moments with you flashing in front of me
Precious as you are no gift for you will satisfy me
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
Mother’s Day kindles my craving and grief
Everything in me is falling leaf by leaf
You lie peacefully there, if only here you were
May God bless you and forgive my words
Short was the time I had with you
Never had I the chance to thank you
On Mother’s Day, mum, what shall I to you say
I love you , I miss you, never will I forget to say
Long as I shall live I will make time for you
Never will I miss a chance to say thank you.

Dearest Besma, thank you for sharing this touching, heartfelt tribute to your Mother! I can so very much identify with the sentiments expressed in this emotive piece particularly since I lost my own mother last year. When you have some time, please read my piece called "When you're Gone" (02-2017). Love and blessings always. Pandita

My dear friend, Besma, such heart aching emotion I feel in your beautifully sad message to your mum. Your mum knows your heart and soul. In her infinite love for you, she understands all and her love is unconditional. Her tender presence lives on in you. I lost my beloved mom 15 years ago, I feel her presence with me always. I have the most spectacular dreams about her, 'visits' I like to call them. I awaken feeling happy and refreshed from our good time.. Happy mother's day to you, my lovely friend and warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

My dearest , Besma, a heavenly tribute to your mother BUT please, rejoice for your mother would never like to see you suffering! She knew all along about your love and devotion for her even though you had not expressed it verbally. Especially, after her departure knows about your love in all its intensity for she feels it as words are of no use where she is. I know it for I lost my mother 59 years ago when I was just 14 years old and since then never left my side! Honor her memory by becoming even better as time passes by! Our parents live within us! We are "Their tickets to eternity"as Socrates has put it!
