A Note In the Wind
If I could write or had the words,
There is a lot I want to say,
But I’m only three.
You know I love you, mommy,
So much I wish I was bigger
To protect you when daddy gets mad.
I love daddy, too,
but I have to close my eyes
so I can’t see him hit you.
I can’t bare to see you cry
And I don’t know why or how
To make it stop.
I’m helpless, mommy,
And I think you and daddy
Still love each other, you just can’t show it
And I need to see love or I’ll wither
And grow bitter and angry
And not be able to show my love, either.
I want to be a flower, mommy
To grow strong but gentle,
Open arms to my sun.
You, mommy, are my sun,
My light, my everything,
and if only I could write,
I’d give this note to the wind
And hope someone will help me.
