A Nightmare
In the night, I lie awake
Darkness all around me
I gaze into the hollow night
As my mind plays its wicked tricks
Shadows shudder
My heart is faint
I close my eyes to no effect
Taunting comments the night
A chill in my spine
The briefly eternal darkness
Engulfs me
As I fall asleep
To be awoken by a scream
To find that nightmarish scream
A product of me
