A Night Prayer

A Night Prayer

Lord, thank you for this day,
I hope every word I did say,
 Was in praise of you
 And my neighbor too
Hope my words hurt no one,
So when this day is done,
I can say my words brought no pain,
 Maybe even did entertain,
Some soul who is in sorrow,
 Maybe tomorrow,
 His grief might end,
 And his broken heart mend
Hope my actions caused no scandle,
There is nothing I can handle,
 Without your divine,
 Hand in mine,
 To lead me,
And show me how to be,
The kind of person I ought to be,
If I want you to love me.
