A Night Like This
The wind kept whispering low
The moon kept brushing the leaves
The rose blushed in its radiant glow
Blowing sweet perfume upon the breeze.
My eyes were greeted with living dew
As it rose upon the gladsome skies
That waxed and waned its heavy blue
Dancing in the stream's bright eyes.
In that very hour she'd come to me
With her coy charms and tender grace
She was waiting there by the glistening sea
With a gentle smile on her loving face.
She sang me a lullaby in her arms
That warmed up my heart with bliss
Love,gladness and death alarms
Within this hour, with just one kiss.
