A Night at the Zoo
The zoo closes.
Everyone is alone in cages.
They make noise, and eat food that was left for them.
The zoo opens in a rush.
The animals seem to awaken.
But they were awake the whole time, their eyes were just closed.
Free flying birds, talk to seals and laugh.
Birds can fly off, but they need the crumbs.
Seals dunk their heads underwater.
They don’t know why they do it, but they do.
A day at the zoo ends.
The people leave again.
Some animals stay up all night,
They are alone.
The zoo closes anyway.
