A New Year's Day Haiku 2022

the old year flies away
the crisp fresh new year alights--
is it the same bird?

From your lips to God's ear, Geoff--but so far 22 looks too damn much like 21!

That same bird visited me twice, once in 2020 and again in 2021, if I see it again I will shoot it out of the sky. Just kidding, but I could certainly relate to your well chosen words and concept in this unique haiku L.J. I have missed you and reading your poetry. I was away too long. It is good to be back. I hope you are well and that you enjoyed the holidays. New year blessings xxoo

God I hope not. We need some fair feathered uplift this year. What a downer this past one has been. Blessings my friend. Well said.

True, but in my 74 new years, not much ever seems to change--because human nature never changes--ve con Dios siempre, mi amigo....
