A New Year’s Ballad

When midnight tolls, the old doth fall, And whispers soft, the past doth call. A year has passed, with joy and grief, A mix of dreams, a brief belief. The days gone by, like shadows fleet, A tapestry of love and defeat. The laughter shared, the tears we've wept, The promises we thought we kept. The year behind, with all its grace, Holds moments none can e'er replace. Yet deep within, the scars remain, A reminder of both loss and gain. But lo! Before us, vast and wide, A path where dreams and fears collide. The battles fought, the victories won, The memories of what we've done. With every step, we rise anew, With weary hearts, but hope in view. For though the storm may rage and roar, We find the strength to fight once more. Through tangled webs and roads we’ve known, The future calls, a seed well-sown. With every breath, we seek the light, To heal the wounds and face the night. So raise thy glass, let joy unfold, For dreams revived and tales retold. The past, though heavy, shall not bind, For hope anew, we now shall find. Happy New Year, a time to rise, To chase the stars, to touch the skies. With hearts that heal and dreams so bright, We step into the endless light.
