A New Year

Poet:  Ken Jordan
Poem:  A New Year
Edited by:  Sparkle Jordan

Out
in the
(far)
far distance,

Fire works
are
set to
explode

and
light up
the
night sky,

amid
onlookers,

joy
and
cheers -

Signaling
a
brand
new year
has
come -

A
new year
that's

not
promised -

Only
the
Great Spirit,

hold
the keys

to
tomorrow -

So
as
the seconds

tick
towards
a
new year,

Humble
thy self,

before
the Lord
(First) -

and
give thanks -

For our
next breath

is only
a
dream -

Therefore,

should
you be
so

favored
and
blessed,

to
witness
the
clock

strike
midnight,

By
all means

Celebrate!!

Ring
in
the
New Year!

But,
know that

a
new year
will
become

as
the old
year,

if you
continue
to do

the
same things
as
before,

expecting
a
different outcome -

Only
through

Hope, Faith,
and
Love -

Will
a
brighter
year

shine on
you -

Happy New Year!
