A New Stage

Her innocence was gone Maturity was her mystique And she wore it like makeup as in clinique She smiled and looked through deep eyes Seeing through the disguise She was wise Serious was her demeanor Compared to a pleasant dream of the dreamer She sought pure thoughts and a heart that was cleaner than clean Right and wrong were not important Truth trumped those nouns And only truth wore the crown She listened to words as if she was reading a good book And if ones words didn’t match their behavior Then she knew that she was listening to a mind crook She untangled their words and threw away their hooks Wisdom and folly are two extremes Wisdom builds self esteem and folly takes one downstream One is kind and one is mean She always walked towards kindness and peace Those two attributes were her centerpiece

This regal poem of queenly wisdom pearls strung together is breathtaking, Lara. You crofted a poetic masterpiece. (Silly pun intended, of which I'm sure you heard before.) So many exquisitely expressed lines, starting right from the first verse ... Her innocence was gone. Maturity was her mystique ... to the very end of this seer sage poetry. An instant classic in my humble opinion. Star bright write. Love and more love always.
