A New Leaf

The anger, the fury, the wrath
Stemming from my inability to circumvent the truth
The truth that lies deep in your eyes and deep in my soul
But alas, I will not succumb to the futile fantasy
You are not the embodiment of my vision
Merely a representation of idealism
I feel destroyed, my dignity on the floor
Here I am picking up the pieces
Rebuilding myself into the person I want to become
A better, strong version of myself
Putting my past to shame
Learning to live for the love that truly is
Instead of a dream that doesn’t deserve fruition
