A New Day Arises
The sun warms the top of my head as it lifts
over the horizon comes the morning
Ripples, rudderless across the sea, swimming
little fish flashing silver smiles
Pink gracefully sweeps the horizon
the brush of Monet an impression of the dawn
Cloudless, the sky raises in an expansive tapestry
cotton candy pink, lemon yellow, robin egg blue
Shivers of the morning dew sprinkle my skin
like a blossom, the day opens
My eyes fill my heart with the magic of the hour
and I feel the promise of the new beginning
