A New Dawn

A new day has arrived
The sky, ripe enough to bring forth its shine
Vegetations appearing greener than ever
Swaying happily in anticipation of the sun rise
The lingering dew of the cold night
They rhythmically shake off

Then the cock leaves its shelter
The hen exits her brooding house
With her chicks clustered around her
Eat we must, die we mustn’t
After all it’s the dawn of a new day

Partly in appreciation of the new dawn
The cock and family recite their daily prayers
Anticipating their morning ration
As they gather before the farmhouse door
Loudly they chant now for food
It’s the dawn of a new day
