Carole Duet Poet Rhyme

A New Book

Like a voice in the dark
  I hear you speak.
You call to me in my sleep.
I hear your voice and I smile
  if only for a little while.

How sweet the dream
  of starting anew.
How lovely the thought
  of being with you.
You make me want to write
  a new book
  and I am so tempted 
  to take a look.

But there you are
  and here am I,
  so far away
  like a bird in the sky.
Will you sail down
  on a cool breeze?
And will you take us
  through the trees?

I'll follow your lead
  and see where it goes.
Maybe we'll find love.
Who knows?
