A Mum, She Is
A raw poem. Whoever would like to rearrange, reorganize it has the right. I'd like to thank them all. I promise I will never make a claim for that
A husband knows, but he pretends not to know
Kids, children, teenagers see, but they don't know
A MUM never puts her mind and body at rest
She gets up early, makes breakfast,
helps her children put on their clothes
sends them to school,
Husband puts on his work clothes and leaves home
Just after that, Mum rinses the dishes
and puts them in diswasher
It's noon, the right time for lunch
if she has a little child or new born baby
they're her alarm clock,
not for them to stay hunger
she feeds them without delay
Even if she feels tired
She rinses the dishes and puts them in diswasher
In the evening, time for dinner
when husband comes back home
he wants to sit at the table
as he doesn't like a little bit delay
He thinks he works long hours(!)
chatting with his work mates
under so hard conditions
However, whatever he does a day at work
is even not one-fourth of what his wife does at home
Husband eats, and waits,
then starts to watch movies on television,
While husband and the kids enjoy themselves,
Mum tidies the room and puts away the toys
Then She rinses the dishes
and puts them in diswasher,
While watching television,
Everyone, except Mum, is about to fall asleep
But kids refuses to go to bed
In the end, they are carried to their bed
in mum's lap,
After a while, "I'm going to bed.
I have to go to work early" says husband
as if mum stays home and does nothing all day
Doing the shopping,
holding all the incomes and
the expenses under strict control
and not losing the control of herself
are hard job to do;
Don't you wonder how much would be paid
if she was an accountant
After all those responsibilities,
her rejection of such burdens is unlikely,
Even if she feel exhausted, and sick,
she never has the right to say
"I am so tired. I'm gone"
On the contrary,
She says "Oh, My God. I have lots of work to do"
That is how a mum's life goes on,
especially after she has had a baby
Days become weeks,
weeks, months
months, years
Whenever you have the opportunity
to go and see your mum
move your butt a bit faster than usual
while your mum is alive
go and kiss her cheeks
Cause a real mother is a unique creature
who bears all tortures and agonies
as long as she dedicates her life
to her children
------------
Not any mothers bear tortures and agonies
for the sake of their husbands
but HER CHILD(REN) (Mesut Göktas)
