A Mother's Years of Grief
A MOTHER'S YEARS OF GRIEF
I could never forget the profound sadness, sorrow, pain
when I left my three year old son and two year old daughter
to come here to America for better opportunity for my family.
They were innocently looking at me, not knowing what was
going on, how their lives would change without a mother.
With breaking heart, I hugged and kissed them goodbye.
Months before I left, I was already grieving and anguished
not knowing how long this separation would be; consumed
with guilt thinking how would they be being away from me.
How I longed and missed them, much so when I imagined their
smiling faces and laughter during our years of separation, years
of grief with all the emotional and mental pain that goes with it.
