A Mother's Love
How do you say thank you
To someone who sacrifices so much
She carries you within her womb
Nurturing you with her love
Never complaining about the stretch marks
She wears each one with pride
Knowing they are her testiments
She is carrying a brand new life
When the time is right, she knows
To push you out into the world
The pain unbearable yet worth
The beautiful blessing in the end
She cares for you day and night
Sometimes with no sleep
Still with the endurance of love
She would have it no other way
Than there comes the toddler years
Chasing you back and forth
Barely having time for herself
But still she loves you so much
Teen years are the worse you know
It's when your relationship gets tested to the limits
Through all the tears and silent prayers
She still kneels down to pray
Because she knows your love will grow
Despite it's many flaws
So with pride she'll stand aside
Watch you as you make your own way
Wanting to pick up when you fall
Knowing you'll learn more fixing your own mistakes
Only hoping some of what she's taught you
Rubbed off along the way
Next she's watching what was her baby once
Start a family of their own
Bittersweet in her heart
She feels once again alone
Just memories in a photo book
Is all that will remain
Because once the little ones leave the nest
Her home is not the same
Remember to call and visit often
Tell her how much you care
Because even though you live separate
Your mother's heart is always your home
Dedicated to my mother Karan Durst...
I love you mom for everything
Happy Mother's Day
