A Mother's Love

Golden-haired beauty lovingly fingering the sunflower plant's leaves, so curious, so beautiful, so kind, so special, lover of the bountiful earth In this cruel-hearted world, with all its toils and troubles, it's easy to get lost and forget your worth. Remember when you planted that seed to make the sunflower grow? When it was so tiny and you were so small? Now, you have both grown so strong and so tall. Remember when you put that seed into the ground and watched with rapture for it to sprout? You watered it, gave it sun, learning what caring for something was all about. You were once like a tiny seed and were planted in my heart for me to care for and love. You were my dream come true, answered prayer from above. I said a prayer and made a wish on a possible chance that a dream would come true. By the grace of God, adn nothing short of a miracle, I was blessed by you. We asked that you have a dragon's heart, patience of a dove and the soul of an eagle, The resilience of dragonfly and hope of a phoenix give you a disarming smile and kindness of ways that always makes you regal. From the moment you were placed into my body, you grew in my soul Feeling you grow and live in me, made me feel whole. I grew you, I watered you, and fed you and gave you plenty of sun and my body kept you safe from harms Wishing and waiting and hoping one day you would be in my arms. My body was your home for a very short while i treasured every kick, every turn, every stretch, every hiccup and wiggle made me smile. All the battles and struggles fought to bring you here just one smile from you, in a moment, they all disappear. I loved you from the beginning and will forever more You are my dream come true, my answered prayer made real and everything I wished for.

Michelle, I'm perplexed that this poem hasn't received more comments. But over-joyed to find this just the same. You sure have a way with your words. You sure have a way with your heart. -Richard
