A Mother's Love
Mother's love cradled me,
Her face the first that I did see,
She brought about a sense of calm,
Protecting me from any harm.
The one on which I can depend,
When my broken heart won't mend,
Who loves me when I hate myself,
When cocooned inside my broken shell.
The one who makes me laugh and cry,
Sharing memories of times gone by,
Who listens to my tales of woe,
When I'm down and feeling low.
Times were tough but still she shone,
And set me on the road I'm on,
The best friend I could ever have,
Life really isn't all that bad.
