A Mother's Love
There’s been a constant presence in my life
Who heard me greet the world in hearty voice,
Then cradled me within her loving arms
As feelings rose which caused her to rejoice.
Three daughters were surrounded by her love
And looking back on happy childhood days
I see the true extent of all her care
Expressed to us in very many ways.
And as the years advanced I too would know
The joy of having children of my own,
And once again deep gratitude abounds
For all the love which she to them has shown.
So Mum, these words come from a grateful heart
which understands how very much you cared.
I thank God for your countless acts of love
And all the happy memories we've shared.
