A Mother's Cry

Blood! My blood, your blood, our blood running in this place, No name to tell a story, just an innocent face. A mother’s voice echo with the cry of pain, And another child’s blood is spilled in vain. You cruel, heartless man who robs the youth of their innocence, You are without a doubt a man without a conscience. And as these innocent, trusting eyes look at you, You come to realize what you have put us through. It may not be my blood, but it’s the blood of a brother, a sister. And the voice that cries out in agony may be my mother or your mother. And as the blood of a son or daughter is shed without fear, I hear the cry of another mother everywhere. A mother’s tears must never be in vain, It is time for her to be free of her pain. Will you be the one to set her free? Or is this just a dream that will never become a reality? I hear the echoes of our mothers’ voices loud and clear, As another child dies from a bullet somewhere. Is that my blood? your blood? our innocent blood running like water? And through the deafening silence all I can hear is the cry of a mother. Is this a dream or is it our reality? Our children are being erased from the society. Wake up from your silent sleep, Because today is the last that a mother will ever weep!
