Notes About The Poem

Teilhard de Chardin - Spoke of the “Omega Point”, a final convergence where all consciousness unites. He coined the description of the spirituality of the universe as “the within of things,” meaning matter itself has an inner consciousness that tends toward unification through evolution.

A monk with no god

All light converging
each thought a star in the field,
woven in longing—
the Omega Point awaits,
joining as one breath of minds.

All matter contains
a spiritual facet
the within of things—
stones dream within river's flow
all converging as one soul

God, hidden, yet near
transcendent immanent flame,
homogeneous—
synthesis of consciousness,
intimate, unquenchable.
