A Mom's Letter To a Daughter

Off on your own at such a young age
So independent and strong-willed
I wish you weren't in such a hurry to become so grown up
For that happens all too soon
Why not enjoy youth while it is here
So quickly, it will fade away
It pains me to see you struggle, Life's burden already on your shoulders
As you take on the world, practically still a youth
(Though I know you'd disagree to that)
So, I hope and pray for the best for you
That you will be cautious in all your decisions
If only you'd seek God's guidance in life's every step
For your Creator knows what's best for you

                                                         I love you,
                                                                Mom
