A Moment's Friend

I can hear the rain falling
Though the rain cannot be seen
Simply for the skies am I responding
Yet a world I’m to witness a dream

With the evening drawing to a close
I’m to witness a night to be awoken
Letting be to see what the night might unfold
I shall decide later if my soul is broken

If it isn’t the darken clouds
It shall be the redden skies
An affinity I can share as proud
Unbroken to simply watch my soul dies

And duly responded perhaps I am
For the rain is no longer to grace me
Simply gifted was I a moment’s friend
If not alone, how much more might there be?

And no longer is the rain falling
And of rain as well to never be seen
Witnessing a self to be responding
I am to this world... a dream
