A Moment

It’s a very strange time
There seems to be no room in the world
For my words
As people speak without listening
Or accuse things before a chance to explain
So, this is my moment of silence

And in this moment I sit,
With all that upsets me
Words pent up with no-where to go,
But on the paper in front of me, not to be heard
This is my moment of silence

Where pain cuts through me
Memories whirl from all directions
And I sit and watch what happens now...
In my moment of silence

Let it not be too long,
But long enough to get me through,
A minute, an hour or maybe a day or two

"No room for my words" -- Wow, that's such an astute observation! Dialogue and communication have yielded to shouting and threats. Great write, Heidi! Keep the Faith! :) gw

These are difficult times, Heidi, and your emotional words reflect how much you take what goes on to heart. People have a right to protest, but not to vandalize. two wrongs (or more) can never make a right. ~ Best regards // paul

Hi Paul. You are so right. Very difficult times and I do take what goes on to heart. I have said those exact words as well that two wrongs don't make a right. Thank you for your kind comment and understanding. Take care. :)

Heidi~ well done, my friend, Frankly, we best stop living in fear and take the bull by the horns. Either life will run us into the ground, or we get up and take responsibility for our mental states. Sorry, we cannot save every person on this planet. Be the very best you can be. Never blame any leader for all world problems. Each leader is responsible for their country people are not weak.we have a planet of freeloaders. Teach people how to survive. The USA is not a cash cow,PR

Thank you Panagiota. Yes, fear will not help us. I have been through many dangerous situations in the past pursuits I have worked on. I see a big picture with this situation and an attack on America leading to war on our land that goes beyond what I already experienced. But there is a lot of loss happening already, so it is a lot to absorb. Yes, we can be the best we can :)

An emotional write Heidi, I think Trump has caused ill feeling by making racist remarks - what must be done, must come, it will be peaceful I know. The same in S. A, we can't be in this century and have vast numbers of people living in poverty. South Africa has millions of poor and the pandemic has attacked them most because of no distancing and bluntly no money, plans are taking place to rectify this. I hear you loud clear Heidi, I hate hooliganism also. Be brave my friend. Hugs, Jenny.

Hi Jennifer. I haven't heard racist remarks you are referring to re: Trump. I do know our country is spiraling with chaos, lawlessness and revenge. Much destruction and loss of life , etc that will not fix the situation that happened. This is not justice. Our country and history, churches and statues also destroyed. I must stay brave in this danger now. I hope all is well. Thank you :)

Spoken from the bottom of heart--these feelings resonate in difficult times for all. You are blessed with nature around you--perhaps it helps in the silent moments. Stay well, Heidi.

Strange times we are in Heidi, there's an air of forboding in our world with the pandemic and protests, that like the virus have spread around the world. When will it all end. Tom

Hi Tom. Well said. An air of foreboding. I don't see an end any time soon and have an overflow of thoughts and feelings about it all. So much is changing for us all. I always appreciate your kind support and I am grateful. I hope you are well. Thank you! Take care :)
