A Missed Opportunity

A mistake
     and tragedy
lost love
         lost forever
a few words
and he turned away
he left in the night
  to where unknown
I searched
       and searched
to say sorry
           I love you
   I want you . . .
'till this day
              he is gone
I threw away
     what could have been
               and that is
a tragedy

I liked this poem for how simply it delivers deep feelings--something special about its tone, Dear Heart.

Vijay, thanks for the compliment, I am learning from Brian and his blog challenges that much can be said in a few words, a poem does not have to be long to have impact !

the regrets and what could have been will linger and break us down if we allow them to...powerful heartfelt wishes in the contest... hugs
