A Military Wife's Goodbye

Date: 10/12/17 pick your topic: Heart break and loss Soldier boy Where's my kiss? Are you going to say goodbye with your words when I'd rather it be with your lips? You say you'll be back But how will I Know? Will you be the same man I fell in love with When you come home? Will you be ornated in medals? Or will you be draped with a flag and encased in oak? I know there are harder days to come But this goodbye is more than I can take I’ll think about you when I close my eyes to sleep And you'll still be on my mind when I wake Soldier boy, stupid soldier boy Didn't you get the hints? You called me your queen and made me your wife Of course I carry your prince You have to make it through You have to survive, find the will to live Soldier boy, my soldier boy What i'd give to get you home What i'd give! What i'd give!
