A Midnight's Trail

Your poetry talks to me in the moody night
a voice of indigo telling me secrets of pain and love
while Luna licks my ear with impatience for my excitement,
I begin to walk faster, like a wolf on a scent, your red scent,
following shadows into sounds of howling winter
seeking just one more whisper from your passion
one more paw print in the hard snow of destiny,
will I ever find your lair of love in the cold night
I swear that I can see the copper glow of your eyes -

There's anticipation in every line ... something is about to happen, but we're not sure what (except with the reasonable assumption it's something pleasant and worthwhile) You've encapsulated all the senses into the image of a prowling wolf - what a way to perceive poetry. I enjoyed the unusual tone to this.

The intensity of love, passion, essence and the personified surroundings of the night makes this poem all the more magical to read, Justin. The mysterious red scent and the glowing eyes was an awesome touch (: You know it's good when it speaks to the reader. Excellent verse dear. The hunt is part of the thrill! Always, Laura

The spirit of this poem's ardent, desperate pursuit in the late night of love's winter, remorseless in tempt and exertion heats through the clear imagery as you so beautifully see Poetess. Your visit, and the analysis of your sensitive genius brings me tremendous joy Nette...J.A.B.
