(Revision of “Midnight Romance,” Sonnet posted in 2017)
The sunset left bright colors, and by-and-by cerulean and crimson layers wove designs that blazed beneath the moonlit sky and spread a fiery glow upon their cove. On the placid lake the mirrored colors reflected all the beauty of this night, and with such splendor, lovers would partake and stir their fire beneath night's sky delight. Her porcelain, smooth ivory face glowed against her sable-brown, long, silky hair. The ash of roses on her cheeks soon showed the smoke and heat of passion in the air. And midnight romance led their hearts to twine by the beauty of sweet nature's hand, and enjoyed their rhapsody of love divine with blazing hearts upon this night so grand.
