A Memory She Left Behind
By the embers of a log fire
I lose myself in thought
My heart is filled with the desire
To give thanks for the gifts true love brought.
Contentment overwhelms me
A smile crosses my lips
I play a loving melody
As I caress your picture with my fingertips.
I can still hear your laughter
Even though I sit alone
Yes all this long time after
I still hear you on the phone .
The way you used your feminine wiles
To try and tie me down
Sat here wearing a silly smile
As I remember A verb, A phrase , A noun .
Oh how I love these memories
I give thanks to the lord above
Dear lord will you please
Look after my true love .
Reward her for her caring
Her love and humility
and thank her lord for sharing
Her wonderful life with me.
