A Memory of Summer

You rose from the water shimmering wet O, light on your fertile frame glistening Umbrella in the azure sky, my hunger set Intense where you curved and was dripping Like a petal lifted on a wind, you ran to me Over sheets of golden sand. We clung and kiss Velvet flesh against velvet skin, the memory Elicting sudden rushes of joy, an elixir of bliss And none can know the quiet peace of that day Love certain as the sun before you went away Wind wash in perfume where the jasmines spray Amorous magic upon the summer day of May Young we were, with dreams of diamonds on the tide Senseless I was to court the tragic moon as bride. Joy is a memory sweeter than the gritting sand Of pain. When age has wrinkled you like a flower Yearn to stand there again, I will hold your hand.
